If you are reading this, then you must wish to examine my personal upgrade of R O Software's immortal DND.EXE game. My upgrade is entitled ADND.EXE, which loosely stands for Advanced Dungeons & Dragons. Since this is copyrighted, you may think of ADND standing for Another DND. The current version of ADND is 0.7.0 This means that it has not even achieved version 1.0.0 yet, so don't be surprised if many of the game features DO NOT work. A word on auxilllary files required to play ADND: All *.BIN files are maze files. If you delete these files or do not have them, ADND will randomly generate them when you choose to explore that dungeon. Files such as LAMORTE.DAT and CAVERN.DAT are Treasure Files. They contain a list of all the items found on that dungeon's floor. Files like LAMORTE.L01 are Monster Files for Level 01. They contain all the monsters to be encountered in this dungeon at that depth. MONSTER.BIN contains binary information about all the monsters currently in ADND's database. It is an important file, but can be easily re-created from MONSTER.DAT simply by typing 'B' at the ADND> prompt. MONSTER.DAT is a text version of all the monsters currently in ADND's database. It is very important that you DO NOT delete this file. You may add a monster simply by alphabetically adding the monster into the file (along with the appropriate information). PLAYERS.DAT contains all the saved players for the ADND game. MAPS.DAT contains all the saved players maps for the dungeon they are exploring *.DOC files are help files read when you enter a HELP LESSON from the ADND> prompt.
